'Pawan Kalyan's fans were unhappy with second-hand female lead'

'Teen Maar', starring Pawan Kalyan and Trisha Krishnan, was released in 2011. The rom-com, which was a remake of the Bollywood film 'Love Aaj Kal', was a box-office failure.

In a recent interview, director Jayanth C Paranjee said that its failure is something he hasn't been able to understand. He then quoted an anecdote involving him and Power Star's fans.

"On the day of the film's release, a bunch of fans arrived at the door of my residence. They asked me how I could pair up Pawan with a second-hand female lead. Trisha's character Meera is married to Sonu Sood's Sudheer in the movie. This is something Pawan's fans couldn't digest," Jayanth said.

He also said that Mahesh Babu's 'Takkari Donga' failed because it was styled like a Hollywood movie. "The audience wanted to watch a Telugu movie. When they were shown a Hollywood movie, they said 'no thanks'. That's why that film flopped," Jayanth said.
