Distributor Warangal Srinu, who lost about Rs 18 Cr on 'Liger' in Nizam segment, has put out some important figures related to the 2022 release.
In his latest interview, Srinu estimated the film's budget to be Rs 80 Cr, including Vijay Deverakonda's remuneration. If Srinu's words are anything to go by, this amount was amassed by the producers (Puri Jaganndh, Charmme in the main) from the sale of non-theatrical release rights alone.
Another Rs 60 Cr (it's a conservative estimate) was made from theatrical rights. So, the producers pocketed Rs 140 Cr while they spent just about Rs 80 Cr on making the movie, including the interest costs. Even if the budget is assumed to be Rs 100 Cr, the profit the producers made from the insanely stupid 'Liger' was Rs 40 Cr.
Is their luck making you green with envy?
