Bollywood filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has an idea. He feels that 'PS 3', if ever made, should explore the idea of the Chola influence in other countries as documented by history. "What a pity there is not a 'PS-3' coming from Mani Ratnam. The Chola influence over the Oceans to present-day Cambodia, even Indonesia would have been fascinating," Kapur wrote.
Some Netizens feel that there is no need to document the external rise of the Cholas, as the two 'Ponniyin Selvan' films are based on a semi-fictional novel written by a novelist. Whole episodes in the novel were fictional.
