'The Kashmir Files' was a blockbuster in 2022. It was made on a budget of less than Rs 20 Cr. And it netted Rs 340 Cr.
The film has received Filmfare nominations in seven different categories. Producer Abhishek Agarwal today issued a statement saying that he is hurt that he hasn't been invited to the awards ceremony. He alleged that the organizers of the Filmfare Awards are biased.
"I have produced and backed the film with the intention of telling a true story to the world and it went on to become a blockbuster. The film received 7 nominations and yet no invite was extended to me," he said.
The producer of films like 'Karthikeya 2' further added that it is time that the entertainment industry gives producers their due. "They (read producers) are the ones who make stars. Respect and recognition would only motivate us better to back great stories," he added.
