'Geethanjali', the 1989 romantic drama, was a turning point in Akkineni Nagarjuna's career. More than 33 years later, it remains one of the Top 5 movies done by Nag. Mani Ratnam (and later RGV) helped Nag consolidate his early career.

Ironically, this April 28, Nag's son Akhil is expected to pulverize a movie directed by Mani Ratnam. 'Agent' will clash with 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' at the Telugu box office.

As things stand, 'Agent' is expected to hog all the limelight at the expense of Mani's magnum opus. 'PS 2' is not expected to take even decent openings in Telugu. 'Agent' (and 'Virupaksha', too) will be attracting a majority of footfalls.

It will be ironic if Mani Ratnam's film is defeated at the hands of a young actor whose father owes his career to him.
