Salman Khan seems to have underestimated Telugu audiences. He might have thought that some Telugu words in the film here and there and Batukamma song would do wonders at the Telangana box office. But the situation is different. Salman Khan’s latest movie, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, had a disappointing opening day, collecting only ₹15.81 crores.
This is one of the lowest openings for Salman’s Eid releases in the past 10 years, with only Dabangg and Bodyguard performing worse. Other movies like Ek Tha Tiger, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Race 2, and Bharat all opened with over ₹20 crores. In contrast, Telugu actor Nani’s movie, Dasara, collected nearly ₹38 crores on its first day, and people on Twitter are drawing comparisons between the two movies.
Reviews for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan have been negative, with critics calling it a below-average movie. The comedy, lack of logic, boring drama, and over-the-top scenes were criticized, and the movie was deemed lacking in freshness and filled with cringe-worthy characters. This resulted in the movie receiving a “disaster” rating. Overall, it seems that Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is struggling to attract audiences and may not perform well at the box office.
