Shaakuntalam is a film that Samantha promoted in a big way. She spoke about her personal life and thought she would gain sympathy but that did not happen as the film flopped badly.
Gunasekhar is losing 20 crores with this film and he is in a deep mess because of this film. There is so much trolling going on that he should stick to drama films more than grand visuals or historic dramas but he keeps trying and falls flat all the time.
Shaakuntalam is just one week old and has been removed from so many theaters already. This is a very sad part of a star heroine film and that too is not been aired for over a week. Samantha's career has once again shrunk to low and now she is only doing web series with Varun Dhawan.
There are only a few multiplexes that are airing Shaakuntalam but a major of single screens have removed the film and gave more screens to Virupaksha and Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bbhai Kisi Jaan which are new releases. Out of the two said, only Virupaksha has become a good hit and the rest have flopped.
