Tollywood boasts of many great directors, and many of them started their careers as assistant directors before taking on the role of director themselves. However, one of their former mentors, Sukumar, has a good track record when it comes to producing successful directors. While Buchibabu, a disciple of Sukumar, recently achieved a huge hit in Tollywood, other directors such as Sreekanth Odela, Palnati Surya Pratap, and Jakka Hariprasad Vema Reddy have also found success after learning under Sukumar.
With the exception of Vemareddy, all of Sukumar's disciples have proven to be a minimum hit guarantee, both for actors and for audiences. Palana, an assistant director under Sukumar, is one such example. However, all eyes are now on the new director, Karthik, who has made the movie Virupaksha with supreme hero Sai Dharam Tej.
The trailer has already generated interest with its new concept, and the fact that Sukumar has written the screenplay has only added to the anticipation for its release this Friday. Mega fans are hoping for a hit with this movie, and it remains to be seen whether Karthik will live up to the legacy of his teacher Sukumar, whose mark is enough to create all the good buzz for any project.
