Achieving a century with a debut movie is a remarkable feat. There are numerous factors that contribute to a film's success at the box office, such as the hero's image and the director's ability. On the other hand, new filmmakers claim that they can easily reach the century mark. These new filmmakers have created a record by becoming the first century heroes in the South.
Recently, the movie 'Dasara', directed by Srikanth Odela, entered the 100-crore club after its pan India release. This movie shook the Indian film industry, and Natural Star Nani achieved a major milestone in his career by entering into the 100 crore club. Srikanth Odela also made history by scoring a century with his debut film, which was a testament to Nani's faith in him. Although there was some doubt about whether the Telangana accent would resonate with audiences across India, the movie's content was enough to captivate viewers.
'Dasara' transformed Nani, who previously struggled to reach the 50-60 crore mark, into a hero with a market value of 100 crores. Vaishnav Tej, Mega's nephew, also achieved a century with his debut film 'Uppena', which saw a surge in collections during the Corona period. Buchibabu Sana, a Kakinada native, made his directorial debut with this film, and it was a hit. Buchibabu was given a rare opportunity to direct his second film with mega power star Ram Charan.
Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran made his directorial debut with the movie 'Lucifer', starring the complete star Mohanlal. Sukumaran stunned the box office with his first movie, 'Lucifer', which became the first Malayalam film to collect more than 175 crores. Mollywood was speechless when this movie earned such a high range with a budget of only 30 crores. Furthermore, this was the first time an actor had directed a megaphone.
Lastly, CB Chakraborty's directorial debut with the movie 'Don' grossed hundreds of crores at the box office. Siva Karthikeyan starred as the hero in this comedy-drama, which captivated the Kollywood audience. Despite being made on a limited budget, the film was a box office hit.
