Khushbu Sundar, a veteran actress and Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party leader, has spoken out about the sexual abuse she faced from her own father when she was young. Her comments were made at an event where she was made a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW).
After her statements created a sensation, Khushbu Sundar clarified her stand and said that she did not say anything wrong or feel ashamed of what she said. She added that the perpetrator should be the one feeling ashamed of their actions.
Khushbu Sundar also stressed the importance of women coming forward and speaking out about their experiences of sexual abuse. She urged women and girls to be strong and take control of themselves, and not to let anything bring them down.
The actress shared that it took her many years to speak out about her own experience, but she wants to send a message to other women that they should not let anything stop them from continuing their journey, no matter what.
