Female centric films seldom work at box office with exceptions like Arundhati and Bhagmathi. Regina Cassandra, who is currently experiencing a less successful period, is placing high expectations on her new Telugu-Tamil movie called Nene Naa. The film is directed by Caarthick Raju, who previously came with his debut film Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene.
The movie is now in the hands of a SP Cinemas, the production and distribution company, who have acquired the theatrical and non-theatrical rights for a fancy price. SP Cinemas will commence promoting the movie soon.
Nene Naa, produced by Raj Shekar Varma of Apple Tree Studios, is a fantasy-adventure thriller that takes place in two different eras – the 1920s and present day. Regina will portray an archaeologist in the film.
The theatrical trailer has generated some curiosity about the movie, which is set to release in theaters in the summer. We have to see if this film works at the box office.
