Since the last few years, a new trend has begun. A lineup of Tollywood directors are slowly proceeding towards Bollywood. While that is a good sign indeed, if one looks closely the success rate has not been good. Gautham Tinnanuri made the remake of 'Jersey' with the vegetarian hunk Shahid Kapoor but it failed to work.
Krish made 'Manikarnika' with the curly haired Kangana and keeping the film's performance aside, the credit went to Kangana. Sailendra Kolanu did the remake of 'Hit' but he could not succeed. Crazy director Puri Jagannadh did 'Liger' which became a colossal disaster. Now, all eyes are on another director.
He is none other than K S Bobby. After scoring a super hit with 'Waltair Veerayya' sources reveal Bobby has set his eyes on Bollywood. Buzz is that he has teamed up with the mighty Mythri Movie Makers and is in the process of preparing a strong commercial script. There is also another gossip that he is eyeing the Greek God of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan for his project.
Whether that will happen or not, what many are waiting to see is whether Bobby can break the Bollywood jinx. On an average, the Telugu directors scoring success is not looking bright but if Bobby can indeed score a big one in Hindi it is going to take the pride of Tollywood and its stature to the next level. It is also going to open a lot of avenues for other talented directors.
It is also heard that the likes of Harish Shankar, Gopichand Malineni are also in the queue to test the Bollywood waters but the cine buffs say Bobby might be a better contender. He has that mass taste but has the talent to mix it with good class which is a perfect mixture for Bollywood audience. Let us see how this is going to work then.
