A Striking Birthday Surprise: Supreme Hero Sai Durgha Tej Joins Hands with Director Teja Kakumanu for #SDT19
Taking a measured, quality-over-quantity route in scripting his cinematic journey, Supreme Hero Sai Durgha Tej continues to greenlight distinctive stories that test his versatility as a performer. Rather than lining up routine commercial assignments, the actor has been intentionally seeking out boundary-pushing scripts. Celebrating his birthday in style today, the actor officially announced his next landmark feature, tentatively titled #SDT19.
The project marks an exciting collaboration, bringing together blockbuster producer Anil Sunkara under the prestigious AK Entertainments banner and actor-turned-director Teja Kakumanu.
From ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Save The Tigers’ to Feature Direction
Teja Kakumanu, who initially won acclaim as a notable character artist in landmark films like Baahubali, made a triumphant transition to direction with the smash-hit, critically appreciated family-comedy web series Save The Tigers. Following that runaway success, Teja had been refining his craft to step into mainstream feature direction.
For his 70mm debut, Teja crafted a first-of-its-kind narrative tailored exclusively for Sai Durgha Tej. Designed to present the Supreme Hero in an unexplored dimension, the concept introduces an avatar and screen dynamic audiences have never witnessed before. Instantly captivated by the emotional beats and novel characterization, Sai Durgha Tej greenlit the venture without second thoughts.
Grand Mounting by Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments
Known for backing high-voltage commercial blockbusters as well as contemporary, content-focused cinema, Anil Sunkara is mounting #SDT19 on an impressive, lavish scale. AK Entertainments' commitment to lavish production values and refined technical aesthetics is set to give this unique narrative a robust, big-screen texture.
Regular Shoot Commences This Month
The makers have confirmed that the pre-production work has reached the finish line and the regular shoot is slated to kick off later this month. Details regarding the leading lady, the primary antagonist, the music director, and the technical roster will be revealed in subsequent announcements.
With a fresh directorial voice, an unconventional character arc, and the backing of a premier production house, #SDT19 is shaping up to be one of the most promising cinematic outings in Sai Durgha Tej’s career.
