A Modern Spin on Matrimony: Team Modern Missamma Unveils Quirky First Single 'Better Be A Missamma'!
Tapping into contemporary relationship dilemmas with a playful, relatable perspective, the makers of the upcoming romantic comedy Modern Missamma launched their energetic first single, "Better Be A Missamma," during a grand event at Prasads Labs, Hyderabad.
Produced by Chiranjeevi Pamidi, Shiva Pamidi, Kiran Kumar Nalluri, and Sravanthi Namburi under the Lasya & Mithuna Creations banner, the film is written and directed by Sai Baba. The film features Harsha Narra (Missing, Roti Kapada Romance) and Tanmayi Khushi (23) in the lead roles, alongside an ensemble cast including Dr. Bhadram, Shivannarayana, Siju AR, Pramodini, Harika, and Rakesh Rachakonda.
"Better Be A Missamma": The Ultimate Anti-Marriage Youth Anthem
Dressed in contrasting traditional attire—Harsha Narra in a classic panche kattu (dhoti) and Tanmayi Khushi in festive ethnic wear—the lead pair brings infectious energy to the screen:
-
Gopi Sundar’s Melodic Hook: Scored by hit composer Gopi Sundar, the track blends lively acoustic rhythms with a breezy, sing-along tempo.
-
A Woman's Take on Marriage: Penned by Kittu Vissapragada, the lyrics playfully articulate a modern woman’s hesitation and candid reservations about early marriage and societal expectations.
-
Female Counterpart to Cult Classics: Leading lady Tanmayi Khushi shared: "Just like Nagarjuna garu’s 'Vaddura Sodaraa' from Manmadhudu resonated deeply with men back then, 'Better Be A Missamma' will be an empowering, fun anthem for women today."
"Directing a Film is as Challenging as Building a House" – Director Sai Baba
Speaking at the launch, director Sai Baba reflected on the creative journey and the legacy of the film's title:
*"There is a famous Telugu saying: 'Build a house, conduct a marriage, and see the struggle.' I would add a third challenge to that list—'Make a feature film and see.'
Carrying a legendary title like 'Missamma' requires genuine courage. The classic films starring Senior NTR garu and Bhumika garu were both far ahead of their times, and our film carries that same progressive spirit. We aren't preaching against marriage; rather, we explore what it truly takes to understand partnership before taking the plunge."*
— Sai Baba
