"It Feels Like a Festival at Home": The Akkineni Family Celebrates Mass Success at Lenin Blockbuster Event
Following its grand release on July 10, the action drama Lenin—starring Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse—has emerged as a resounding box-office success. Presented by Annapurna Studios and joint-produced by Manam Enterprises LLP and Sitara Entertainments (Akkineni Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi), the film directed by Murali Kishor Abburu has struck a major chord with audiences.
To mark the film breaking even within just three days and achieving solid theatrical run-time across regions, the makers hosted a grand Blockbuster Vaibhavam Event in Hyderabad. Bringing back the nostalgic tradition of handing out shields to distributors, exhibitors, and the core team, the evening was packed with high emotion, fan frenzy, and family pride.
"Akhil Waited So Long for This Love": Akkineni Nagarjuna
Addressing the gathering, veteran star and producer Akkineni Nagarjuna grew nostalgic about bringing back traditional shield presentation ceremonies:
"Inviting distributors and exhibitors to present shields used to be a grand tradition, and bringing it back for Lenin fills me with immense joy. Hearing that theaters are running housefull everywhere is the best feeling for a producer.
This love, these cheers—this is what Akhil has been waiting for so long. I don't know how the fans feel, but for me, Akhil, and Chaitanya, it feels like a grand festival at home. The entire house is glowing with happiness. A heartfelt thank you to all the fans and audience for embracing Lenin."
Nagarjuna also praised writer Satyanand, lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry, and the Annapurna post-production team for delivering exceptional output under tight deadlines.
"Proud as a Brother and a Fan": Naga Chaitanya
Expressing his happiness over his younger brother's big win, Naga Chaitanya shared how Akhil completely transformed himself for the titular role:
"Akhil may have taken his time to deliver this hit, but the fans supported him with the latest energy! The moment I heard this script, I knew Akhil had a winner on his hands. Akhil's real personality has zero connection to the character of Lenin, yet he completely transformed himself for the role. As an elder brother and a fan, I am immensely proud of him.
Only Akhil and I truly know the fire Dad possesses when making bold decisions—films like Shiva, Annamayya, and Ninne Pelladata were born from that daring spirit. Lenin was backed with that exact same courage. Seeing distributors and producers happy keeps the whole industry healthy. Big congratulations to the team, and thank you to the audience for giving my 'Sisindri' baby such a massive hit."
"Brake Even in 3 Days": Akhil Akkineni & Team
A humbled Akhil Akkineni kept his speech short and focused on expressing gratitude to the distribution network:
"We have already spoken a lot about Lenin. My deepest thanks go out to our distributors who increased our screen count from day two based on audience demand. Achieving break-even within three days is incredibly satisfying. Thank you to the post-production team, our fans, and my brother Chaitanya for standing by us."
Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and director Murali Kishor Abburu also addressed the crowd, extending their gratitude to the Akkineni fan base and trade partners for making Lenin one of the most profitable and celebrated ventures of the season.
