Reviving Tollywood's Golden Era of Children's Cinema
In a regional industry dominated by heavy mass actioners, successful producer-distributor Dheeraj Mogilineni is taking a highly refreshing detour. Under his banner Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, the producer is all set to present a wholesome, nostalgic children's feature film titled Summer Holidays. Directed by debutant Srikar, the film aims to capture the sweet innocence of childhood and rural holidays.
Kickstarting the musical promotions on a premium note, the makers dropped the film's first single, "Crush Song," at a star-studded gala in Hyderabad. The melody was formally launched by the core Baby team—hero Anand Deverakonda, blockbuster producer SKN, and #90s web series director Aditya Haasan.
"I Got Emotional Watching the Initial Cuts" – Anand Deverakonda
The core anchor of the track is its innocent portrayal of early childhood infatuation, written beautifully by lyricist Kittu Vissapragada and brought to life by singer Anurag Kulkarni. Speaking at the event, Anand Deverakonda highlighted his deep, ongoing collaborative history with the technical team:
A Nostalgic Framework: "When I first witnessed the teaser and heard the initial bits of the Crush Song, I genuinely had tears of joy. It instantly teleports you back to a simpler time. Lyricist Kittu and singer Anurag gave me my first major career recognition, and watching them create magic here is phenomenal. Master Rohan Roy was incredible in #90s, and I am currently sharing screen space with him in my upcoming film Epic. His natural acting on set inspires me daily," Anand revealed.
Producer SKN highly commended Dheeraj Mogilineni’s gut instinct for backing diverse, high-concept cinema like Ambajipeta Marriage Band, The Girlfriend, and Baby. He lamented that wholesome children's classics like Little Soldiers, Chinari Chetan, and Bala Bharatham have sadly vanished from modern Telugu screens, thanking the production house for filling that major industry void.
The Rise of a New Musical Identity
Director Srikar drew high praise for his technicians, boldly comparing music composer Sinjith Yerramilli’s upcoming trajectory to legends like Ilaiyaraaja and Mani Sharma for creating distinct thematic sonic identities.
A Passionate Composition: Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni explained the strategy behind the launch, noting that since Aditya Haasan shot to fame directing Rohan in #90s, and Anand is anchoring Epic, it felt perfect to have them bless the child prodigies. Dheeraj also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the parents of Rohan, Khushi, and Arun for coordinating tough outdoor shoot schedules without disturbing the kids' academic examinations.
With premium audio giant Think Music securing the audio rights for a hefty corporate margin, the tracking for Summer Holidays is showing massive family audience appeal ahead of its approaching theatrical map.
