Cricket is more of a religion than a sport in India and even the film stars don't shy away from showing their prowess on the ground. In lieu of that, an ambitious initiative called 'Celebrity Cricket League' took off a few years ago and it became a major success. However, all that came to a standstill three years ago owing to Covid.
But now, the good news is that CCL has been revived and it is all set to commence again this season. Parle Biscuits has become the main title sponsor for this event and it is going to bring together a total of eight industries – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Bengali and even Bhojpuri.
Reports reveal that Victory Venkatesh will now become the mentor to the Telugu Warriors team while Akkineni Akhil will become the captain. The tournament starts from February 18th and ends on 19th March. Hyderabad is the venue for both the semifinals and the Final event. Get set for some cricketing action from the stars folks!
