The anticipation for Charming Star Sharwa’s high-octane sports drama Biker is reaching a fever pitch. Billed as India’s first comprehensive motocross film, the project is directed by Abhilash Reddy Kankara and produced by the prestigious UV Creations. Adding to the buzz, the film features Malvika Nair as the female lead and veteran actor Rajashekar in a powerful, pivotal role.
Ahead of the film’s grand theatrical release on April 3, 2026, acclaimed music director Ghibran interacted with the media to share his journey and the unique musical landscape of Biker.
A Full-Circle Moment with Sharwa
For Ghibran, Biker feels like a homecoming. He made his Telugu debut with Sharwa’s Run Raja Run, and reuniting for this project feels special.
-
The Comeback: After his massive work on Saaho, Ghibran was looking for a script with strong emotional depth. "When Vamsi Garu (UV Creations) narrated the idea and I met Abhilash, I felt an instant connection. The script is brilliant and the emotions are incredibly grounded," Ghibran shared.
Blending Adrenaline with Family Sentiment
While the film is a pioneer in the motocross genre in India, Ghibran emphasizes that it isn't just about the races.
-
Hollywood Standards: The composer remarked that the making of the film is on par with international cinema. "Director Abhilash had a very clear vision—he wanted a Hollywood-level aesthetic but with an Indian heart."
-
The Emotional Core: According to Ghibran, the bond between a father and son is the driving force of the narrative. "Even a world-class racer has a family. We have carefully blended high-stakes racing action with deep-rooted family sentiments that will resonate with everyone."
A Technical Masterclass in Sound
Scoring a racing film presents unique challenges, particularly balancing the roar of engines with the musical score.
-
The Sound Balance: "The sound of motocross bikes is loud and aggressive. We used advanced technology to ensure the background score and sound effects coexist perfectly without overpowering one another," Ghibran explained.
-
Innovative Soundtrack: The film features eight songs in total—one full-length track and seven montage songs—each designed to move the story forward rather than acting as a speed bump.
The "New" Sharwanand
Ghibran was high in praise for the lead actor’s dedication and transformation. "While composing, I saw a completely 'new' Sharwanand. His performance is going to be a major talking point after the release. He has put his heart and soul into this athlete's journey."
Production and Release
With the backing of UV Creations, known for their uncompromising production values (Saaho, Radhe Shyam), Biker is poised to be a visual treat. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026.
