“A Love Story Blended with Thrilling Action”: Adivi Sesh Wraps Up ‘Dacoit’ Shoot, Set for April 10 Release
Pan-India star Adivi Sesh, known for his streak of back-to-back blockbusters, is ready to reinvent himself in a rugged and massy avatar with his upcoming film, Dacoit. Marking the directorial debut of Shaniel Deo, the film features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead and Bollywood’s maverick filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a pivotal role.
On Wednesday (March 11), the makers held a "Shoot Wrap Press Meet" on the film sets to celebrate the completion of the 149-day production. Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda under the Annapurna Studios banner and co-produced by Sunil Narang, the film is locked for a global theatrical release on April 10, 2026.
A Unique Love Story Amidst Guns and Bullets
During the press meet, Adivi Sesh highlighted that while the title suggests a gritty crime drama, the soul of the film is a romance.

The Genre: Sesh described it as a "thrilling action love story," a genre he feels is currently missing in cinema.

The Plot: The story follows two ex-lovers and their journey of realization. "When there are guns and bullets everywhere, the emotion between two people becomes very unique," Sesh remarked.

Family Appeal: Despite the intense action, Sesh assured that the film is an emotional rollercoaster that families can watch together. "I will be watching it with my sister," he added.
A Powerhouse Cast and Technical Excellence
The film boasts an elite ensemble including Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni, Sunil, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, and Zarina Wahab.

Anurag Kashyap’s Debut: This marks Anurag Kashyap’s first major acting role in a Telugu-Hindi bilingual. Sesh shared that he narrated the story to Anurag at Naga Chaitanya’s wedding, and the director agreed instantly.

Musical Soul: Music director Bheems Ceciroleo has composed the tracks, including the viral "Rubaru" and a reimagined "Kanne Pittaro" (an idea credited to producer Supriya).

Bilingual Treatment: The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, with Sesh noting that the "treatment" of certain scenes varies slightly between the two languages to suit the regional sensibilities.
