Annagaru Vostaru, the action-comedy starring Karthi and Krithi Shetty, hits theatres worldwide on December 12, backed by Studio Green production house with K. E. Gnanavel Raja as producer and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. The grand pre-release event in Hyderabad drew praise from industry figures, highlighting Karthi's versatility and the film's nod to 70s-80s mass commercial cinema magic. Karthi described it as a challenging project, imagining modern superheroes like NTR and MGR in a fictional world where hero worship turns devotional.
Lyricist Rakendu Mouli lauded Karthi's unique film choices like Awara, Khakee, and Yuganiki Okkadu, calling the movie a thrilling ride and sharing that he penned all songs. Directors including Venky Kudumula, Shiva Nirvana, Deva Katta, Vivek Athreya, Rahul Ravindran, and Shailesh Kolanu expressed fandom for Karthi's roles, Nalan's style from Soodhu Kavvum, and the trailer's fresh vibe, with many citing personal inspirations and eagerness for first-day viewing.
Krithi Shetty shared her dream of working with Karthi since Uppena, praising his encouragement and Nalan's world-building as a tribute to classic commercial charm. Guests like Bunny Vas, Madhura Sreedhar Reddy, Bobby, and Sundeep Kishan echoed admiration for Karthi's script picks, Telugu audience love, and team synergy, with Mythri Distribution’s Sashidhar noting positive trailer feedback.
Karthi responded emotionally, thanking directors like Shiva Nirvana and Deva Katta, planning future collaborations, and highlighting Krithi's dedication. He explained the film's core—hero devotion in a superhero narrative rooted in cultural icons—stressing its difficulty and his commitment to fresh stories after Satyam Sundaram's success.
