Filmmaker-turned-lead Tharun Bhascker reunites onscreen with Eesha Rebba in the quirky rural family comedy Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, marking the directorial debut of A R Sajeev. Jointly produced by S Originals and Movie Verse Studios—with producers Srujan Yarabolu, Aditya Pittie, Vivek Krishnani, Anup Chandrasekaran, Sadhik Shaik, and Naveen Sanivarapu, and co-producers Kishore Jaladi and Bala Sowmitri—the film wraps shoot and post-production, launching promotions with a humorous teaser.
The teaser introduces arrogant fish trader Ambati Omkar Naidu (Tharun Bhascker) clashing with his patient, disciplined wife Kondaveeti Prashanti (Eesha Rebba) in a classic family setup—until a surprising twist flips the "kutumba katha chitram." Sharp writing delivers laugh-out-loud moments in a vibrant village world.
Deepak Yeragara's cinematography beautifully frames Godavari district landscapes, Jay Krish's upbeat score (especially the theme) amps the fun, with rich production values enhancing the authentic rural vibe. Tharun shines with nuanced attitude, highlighted by a funny IPL chat exposing his character's quirks, while Eesha charms effortlessly. Supporting cast glimpses add flavor.
Positioned as a wholesome Republic Day entertainer, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi hits theatres worldwide on January 23.
