Second innings has become very important for actors from the 80s and 90s generation and beyond. Earlier, actors who used to retire were never seen again and in an era where there was no social media, no one had any clue as to where they are and what they are doing. However, for actors in the last thirty years, the second innings matters a lot since they can make a comeback and earn whatever money and fame they can.
Srikanth and Jagapathi Babu were the darlings of the family audience in the 90s and mid-2000's. They held such a sway that even stars slowly switched to entertain the family crowd after watching back-to-back hits for both of them. After fading as hero, Jagapathi Babu started his second innings as a villain. Although it took some time for him to make it big, he is now very successful at it and he is also acting in Tamil and Malayalam films where he is making big money.
Srikanth who started his career as a villain rose to fame within no time and now he is working in his second innings trying to take up new roles in new projects. But he is yet to taste any success in this regard. The 54 year old actor started off as a villain again with Yuddham Saram and later he acted in a negative role in a Kannada film called The Villain. Later he was seen in Akhanda which became a hit.
However, there was not much mileage for his role. In Akhanda, working under another villain Srikanth couldn't get any credit for his character.
These days he is also working as Hero's elder brother. Now he is coming up with a new movie called Hunt and he is hoping to get good success with this movie. Where Jagapathi babu succeeded, Srikanth is unable to do it strongly. After the hype of PelliSandaD, even Srikanth's son is reportedly looking for good offers and he seems to have got none till now.
