The film is set for a nationwide theatrical release on November 7, 2025, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Rashmika & Dheekshith Steal the Spotlight

The emotionally charged trailer paints an intricate picture of modern relationships, heartbreak, and self-discovery, led by Rashmika’s character Bhooma, a young woman navigating a turbulent love affair with Vikram (Dheekshith Shetty). Their characters explore the fine line between affection and obsession, a theme that has struck a chord with audiences. Director Rahul Ravindran, known for his emotionally rooted storytelling, described the film as “intense, real, and deeply personal,” emphasizing that viewers will see a new depth in both lead performances.

Allu Aravind’s Bold Prediction

At the event, Allu Aravind lauded Rashmika’s portrayal, stating,

“This film rests on Rashmika’s shoulders. Her performance is deeply moving, and I have no doubt she will win Best Actor awards across the board for The Girlfriend. Dheekshith’s work will also surprise everyone — he’s going to be celebrated after this release.”

He also revealed that Rahul Ravindran initially pitched the idea as a web series for Aha, but was convinced that the layered emotion merited a feature film format. He added, “Rahul has managed to extract stunningly real performances that blur the line between the artist and the character.”.

Team Speaks from the Heart

Cinematographer Krishnan Vasant praised the film’s creative team, calling the project “a labour of love that captures both tenderness and turmoil beautifully.”
Producer Vidya Koppineedi said, “When people hear Geetha Arts, they expect a cute love story — this one will surprise them. The Girlfriend hits straight at the heart.”
Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni added, “We didn’t make this film just for commercial appeal. It’s driven by faith in human emotion and storytelling. Rashmika’s support has been extraordinary — her commitment went far beyond her performance.”
Director Rahul Ravindran concluded that The Girlfriendisn’t just a love story—it’s an emotional mirror for anyone who has loved, lost, or struggled to be understood.

Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty on Their Roles

At the event, Rashmika emotionally reflected on what drew her to the film:

“I’ve done different kinds of films, but this one felt special. The Girlfriend is about real emotions — relationships that shape us and sometimes break us. I want audiences to take something heartfelt back home.”

Dheekshith Shetty, of Dasara fame, shared, “Vikram is complex — people will love him and hate him. It’s a character that taught me a lot about vulnerability.” His chemistry with Rashmika has been hailed as one of the film’s strongest assets.

Music, Cast, and Technical Excellence

The soothing, soulful background and soundtrack are composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, known for Hi Nanna, with lyrics that beautifully underscore the film’s emotional beats. The cinematography by Krishnan Vasant, editing by Chota K. Prasad, and art direction by S. Rama Krishna and Monika Nigotre create a world that feels vivid yet grounded. The ensemble cast also features Anu Emmanuel, Rao Ramesh, and Rohini in notable roles.

A November to Remember

With its raw portrayal of love and conflict, The Girlfriend promises to take audiences on a deeply emotional journey. As Allu Aravind aptly put it, “Not all love stories are fairy tales — some leave you thinking long after the credits roll.”

The film will release on November 7, 2025, offering viewers across languages a love story that’s as real as it is riveting.
