Rocking Star Manchu Manoj returns to cinemas with a forceful new role in the pan-India film Mirai, releasing worldwide on September 12, 2025. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory, Mirai has become a major talking point after its star-studded pre-release event in Visakhapatnam.
Manoj Relates Black Sword to Thanos
At the event, Manoj reflected on his deep ties to Visakhapatnam and expressed gratitude for fans’ unwavering support through his career highs and lows. Addressing the crowd, he shared how Mirai came to him when he needed the perfect script for his return: “Some scripts didn’t align with producers, some didn’t match my conviction. Then Karthik narrated Mirai—I immediately knew this was my comeback! The role of Black Sword is as powerful and multi-layered as Thanos in Avengers, sure to leave audiences spellbound.”
Black Sword: Fierce and Fearless
Manoj described Black Sword as a character who rejects injustice and division. “Black Sword doesn’t care about caste or religion. If he witnesses injustice, he’ll fiercely stand against it. According to Mirai’s thrilling story, Black Sword will face every challenge until the nine sacred books are found.” Manoj joked about a pivotal moment: “Director Karthik told me, ‘If Black Sword finds all nine books, he transforms into Ravanaasura and must confront Lord Rama.’ That gave me goosebumps—I’m a devotee of Rama!”
Pan-India Ambition & Mythological Depth
Mirai promises a blend of action, mythology, and pan-India appeal. Manoj praised Karthik’s research and praised producer Vishwa Prasad for making no compromises on the film’s scale. The actor dubbed his own voice in five languages, ensuring strong regional connect. Manoj wished fellow stars Pawan Kalyan (OG) and Bellamkonda Sai (Kishkindhpuri) success this festive season, believing Mirai could grow into a franchise with multiple sequels.
