The highly awaited Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to continue his winning streak within the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Produced under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner, the film features King Nagarjuna in a powerful role, fresh off his blockbuster hit Kuber. Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan also joins the ensemble in a significant role, adding to the film’s pan-Indian appeal.
The makers have officially announced a major update today: the long-awaited Coolie trailer will be released on August 2. The announcement poster, showcasing Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, and Upendra in strong avatar looks, has already set the excitement soaring among fans.
In a blockbuster distribution deal, the prominent firm Asian Multiplexes Private Limited—led by D. Suresh Babu, Dil Raju, Sunil Narang, and Bharat Narang—has acquired the Telugu theatrical rights of Coolie at a premium price.
The film boasts an impressive supporting cast including legends like Sathyaraj, Soubin Shaheer, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Mahendran, who all play key roles.
In the Telugu states, Asian Suresh Entertainments will handle the grand theatrical release, ensuring wide reach and strong promotional activities.
The film has already created massive hype through its first look posters, teasers, and songs, establishing a huge craze. Tracks like “Chikitu” and “Monica” have become chartbuster hits, further fueling anticipation.
Produced by Kalanidhi Maran, the film’s technical team is top-notch, with musical genius Anirudh Ravichander scoring the soundtrack, celebrated cinematographer Girish Gangadharan handling visuals, and Filomin Raj in charge of editing.
Coolie is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on August 14, 2025, and is expected to be one of the biggest pan-Indian blockbusters of the year.
