Yash Raj Films (YRF) has launched the highly awaited War 2 trailer, igniting excitement among fans as Hrithik Roshan and NTR face off in what’s set to be a monumental action spectacle in cinemas. The electrifying trailer, featuring both iconic stars from Bollywood and Tollywood, is making headlines as the first true pan-India film to unite two mega-stars from the North and South of India.
One of the standout moments that has quickly gone viral is the ‘India First’ oath, a powerful pledge taken by both Hrithik and NTR’s characters to defend the nation at any cost. This oath, crafted by Aditya Chopra and Shridhar Raghavan, serves as an emotional and thematic core of the film.
Shridhar Raghavan, lead writer of the YRF Spy Universe, shared, “Adi was clear—no plot points from War 2 should be revealed in the trailer. So, we designed a fictional oath for the covert agents, symbolizing their willingness to go to any lengths for the country. This oath is a reflection of the film’s central drama and intensity. Every new entry in the Spy Universe peels back more about these agents—who they are, what connects them, and their origins.”
He continues, “The trailer depicts Hrithik and NTR as mirror opposites: both are extraordinary, ruthless soldiers tied by duty to protect India. But why are these warriors clashing? What twist of fate put them on this explosive collision course? The objective was to heighten the intrigue and anticipation.”
Shridhar also highlighted the significance of the ‘India First’ motif, saying, “INDIA FIRST was always the foundation for every agent in the Spy Universe—now it’s voiced as their defining motto, playing a pivotal role in War 2 and serving as the very soul of the franchise. Every YRF agent’s rallying cry moving forward will be ‘India First’.”
Marking 25 years of cinematic excellence for both Hrithik Roshan and NTR, YRF is celebrating their legacy through grand promotions for War 2. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, this latest chapter in the YRF Spy Universe will release worldwide in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil on August 14th. The film also stars Kiara Advani in the lead female role.
