CM Revanth Reddy's Vision for Telangana Cinema
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressed the gathering, stating, "Ramoji Film City is a unique film city in the country, and it is a matter of pride for us that such a facility is in Telangana. I congratulate the film team for conceiving the idea of making 'Srimad Bhagavatam.' In this changing era, films like 'Srimad Bhagavatam' are very essential. Forty years ago, the Ramayana serial brought the Ramayana to everyone. During COVID, when the Ramayana serial was telecast again, it created a record."
He further outlined his government's vision: "We aim to transform Telangana into a 1 trillion economy by 2035. We are planning to make it a 3 trillion economy by 2047. For this, we are preparing a 2047 Vision Document, and the film industry will have a special chapter in it. Just as Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana serial became popular back then, I wish 'Srimad Bhagavatam Part-1' becomes equally successful. My congratulations to the movie team. Our aspiration is that in the coming days, Hollywood films will also be shot in Hyderabad."
Film industry experts believe that this film has the potential to inject new life into the Telangana film industry, with state-of-the-art facilities like Ramoji Film City playing a crucial role. "Srimad Bhagavatam Part-1" is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the reputation of Telugu cinema globally.
Global Talent and Advanced Production
This project also features top-tier global talent. Mr. Clyde Edwards serves as the Executive Producer, known for his work as a Visual Effects Producer and Supervisor on international films and series such as Life of Pi, Harry Potter series, The Jungle Book, Marvel, Game of Thrones, and many more. Joel Shaeffer, a Director of Photography with over 20 years of experience and a Masters graduate in Cinematography from AFI, has also joined the project, with credits including blockbusters like Mission: Impossible, Star Trek, and Fast & Furious 7.
"Srimad Bhagavatam Part-1" is scheduled for a grand theatrical release in multiple languages in 2026. It has been meticulously crafted with over four years of Sanskrit research by the same team that worked on the 1987 Ramayana. With a deep focus on the story and delving profoundly into devotional aspects, this project will be filmed using IMAX-certified large-format cameras and will feature global-grade visual effects to enhance the experience. This initiative aims to bring India's sacred heritage and spiritual wisdom to a global audience like never before. The project is envisioned as a movement to reintroduce India's spiritual legacy, values, and divine stories to a new generation—across languages, continents, and time.
Dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ramanand Sagar and Smt. Leela Sagar, this film serves as a heartfelt tribute to their enduring legacy.
