As Power Star Pawan Kalyan's highly anticipated film 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' gears up for its July 24th release, the excitement surrounding the period action epic has reached a fever pitch. In a fascinating revelation, director Jyothi Krisna has disclosed that he drew significant inspiration from the legendary actors NTR and MGR to meticulously craft Pawan Kalyan’s character in the film. The filmmaker noted that he was motivated to write Pawan's role after observing his trailblazing qualities, which he found remarkably similar to those of these iconic personalities.

MGR's Enduring Message Inspires 'Maata Vinali'

According to Jyothi Krisna, Pawan Kalyan's onscreen persona in 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' was carefully designed to align with his image as a virtuous, strong, and 'people's man.' The director shared that even after becoming Chief Minister, MGR consistently acted in films that were filled with message-oriented themes and honesty. "I was inspired by this aspect and composed a powerful and thought-provoking song, 'Maata Vinali,' in 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu'," says Jyothi Krisna. "The essence of the song conveys the importance of embracing positivity and righteousness in life, directly reflecting Pawan's ideology and widespread appeal. The song has already deeply impacted and resonated with audiences."

NTR's Mythological Grandeur Reflected in Pawan's Symbolism

Similarly, some of NTR’s most celebrated performances came from his iconic portrayals in mythological and folklore films, particularly as Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, which are definitive representations of these characters. "NTR garu was admirably depicted as Lord Rama with a bow and arrow that represented his power and ability to uphold dharma," explains the director. "I drew inspiration from this element and designed a bow and arrow for Pawan garu in 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' (which is also a period film). These weapons symbolize Pawan’s power and readiness to fight for justice and uphold dharma."

Jyothi Krisna further elaborated that while writing the script, he realized that people are increasingly looking at Pawan Kalyan as a leader, rather than just a hero. This understanding influenced his approach: "I wanted to create every scene as a 'special one' that would elevate the narrative and truly resonate with the audience's perception of Pawan Kalyan."

This unique blend of influences from two cinematic and political giants is set to make Pawan Kalyan's portrayal in 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' a memorable and impactful one, promising a film that is both a grand spectacle and a reflection of contemporary aspirations.
