The highly anticipated horror thriller "Nishabdha" unveiled its intriguing teaser today in Hyderabad, coinciding with the birthday celebration of producer Srinivas. The film, starring Manoj Kumar and Ashitha Reddy in lead roles, is produced by Srinivas and M. Sandhya Rani under the Sri Rishi Sai Productions banner, and is directed by Ramanamurthy Thangellapally.
The launch event was graced by prominent comedian Ali, who sounded the clap for the muhurtham shot. Young heroes Krishna and Sanjay attended as chief guests, alongside actors Surya, Chitti, and Raghu Karumanchi, who also participated in the ceremonial switch-on. The team then celebrated producer Srinivas's birthday with a cake-cutting ceremony.
Director Ramanamurthy Thangellapally shared his vision for "Nishabdha," promising a distinct entry into the horror genre. "After films like Soundarya Garu's Ammoru and Vijayashanti Garu's Chandi, we haven't seen a Goddess-centric film like this. We're creating 'Chandi Durgamma' (an alternate title/theme discussed) with a fresh concept and a new dark-themed screenplay, tailored for today's audiences. In these times, when it's challenging to bring audiences to theaters, we're designing 'Nishabdha's' making to captivate them," he stated. He added that the story was developed from a core idea suggested by co-producer Oli, and expressed confidence that "Nishabdha" will be a "masterpiece."
Producer Srinivas extended his gratitude, assuring audiences that "Nishabdha" is as compelling as its teaser and will soon hit theaters. He also revealed plans for Sri Rishi Sai Productions to release four more content-oriented films, focusing on providing opportunities for new talent.
Manoj Kumar, making his debut as a hero, expressed his happiness: "I'm thrilled to get this opportunity. I auditioned for the film and was selected. Our director Ramanamurthy's guidance helped me perform well. This isn't a small film; it's content-driven with impressive horror elements. It's a clean horror film with no vulgarity, aiming to impress."
Ashitha Reddy, introduced as the heroine, noted her character's unique aspect: "I don't have many dialogues in the film, but I've focused on conveying through my performance. The entire team was incredibly supportive. I thank the director and producers for this chance."
Nagalakshmi, who plays a ghost character, shared a fun detail: "I play a ghost, and I have four sisters who are also playing ghost characters in the film!"
The director highlighted the challenging but rewarding night schedules: "We shot the entire film at night, from 6 PM to 5 AM. Our cast and crew were incredibly supportive."
Young hero Krishna praised the teaser, anticipating a good horror thriller. Sanjay affirmed that "content-oriented films always find audience support," expressing optimism for "Nishabdha." Actor Surya, who plays an important character, hopes the role will earn him recognition. Actor Chitti and Raghu Karumanchi both lauded Mainu Khan's vision and wished the team success.
