The highly anticipated Telugu film 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu,' starring Pawan Kalyan, has encountered yet another postponement. Originally slated for a June 12, 2025 release, the film, which has been in production for five years, is now reportedly targeting July 4, 2025. While an official announcement is still pending, sources indicate that unresolved theatrical business and incomplete VFX work are the primary reasons behind this latest delay.
The historical epic has faced numerous setbacks over the years, largely attributed to Pawan Kalyan's demanding political commitments. Despite the actor recently wrapping up his portions, the complex post-production, particularly the extensive visual effects, requires more time.
Produced by AM Rathnam, 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' is a high-budget venture, reportedly costing close to ₹200 crore. The extended production timeline has resulted in significant interest accrual, especially for the elaborate sets erected in top studios.
Initially, the film was helmed by director Krish. However, due to the prolonged delays, Krish has since moved on from the project. AM Rathnam's son, Jyothi Krishna, has reportedly stepped in to complete the directorial duties, ensuring the film reaches completion.
Pawan Kalyan will portray the titular role of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, a legendary Telugu freedom fighter. He will be joined by Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead, while Bollywood star Bobby Deol takes on the antagonist role of Aurangzeb. The music for the film is composed by RRR fame M.M. Keeravani.
In a significant development, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital streaming rights for a substantial ₹52 crore, with plans to make the film available on its platform in the second week of August 2025.
