Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is set to entertain audiences with his upcoming sports comedy-drama, 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' slated for release on June 20th. Following this, Khan is expected to begin preparations for the highly anticipated biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, which will commence filming later this year under the direction of Rajkumar Hirani.
However, new reports suggest that the collaboration between Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani might extend beyond the Phalke biopic. According to an exclusive report by Pink Villa, the duo is likely to reunite for a sequel to their blockbuster sci-fi comedy-drama, 'PK.' The original film was an industry hit in Bollywood, garnering significant critical acclaim and dominating the box office despite various controversies. The film famously concluded with a cameo by Ranbir Kapoor, strongly hinting at a potential continuation.
The Pink Villa report indicates that "There’s a definite idea for PK 2, which Hirani, Abhijat, and Aamir are excited about, and they will revisit it after the Dadasaheb Phalke." The report further suggests that the plot "organically leads itself to a sequel, with Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, but the boat is far from sailing." Ranbir Kapoor is also reportedly aware of the concept and is enthusiastic about reprising his role as an alien.
This potential sequel promises to reunite the successful creative team and explore the intriguing narrative set up at the end of the first film, offering fans more of the unique blend of humor and social commentary that 'PK' was celebrated for.
