The highly anticipated Telugu-Tamil bilingual gangster action drama 'Kuberaa,' starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna and directed by Sekhar Kammula, celebrated its audio launch with a star-studded event in Chennai. The evening drew an enthusiastic crowd of fans, media, and prominent film industry figures, building immense anticipation for the film's June 20th release.
The grand event featured appearances by lead actors Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, along with director Sekhar Kammula, music composer Devi Sri Prasad, producers Suniel Narang, Jhanvi Narang, Bharat Narang, and Simran Narang, cinematographer Niketh Bommi, production designer Thotta Tharani, and lyricists Viveka, Chandrabose, and Nanda Kishore. Each shared their heartfelt thoughts and excitement for the upcoming film.
Responding to thunderous cheers, Rashmika Mandanna playfully exclaimed, “I love you too!” She expressed profound gratitude to Sekhar Kammula for welcoming her into his cinematic world and voiced her eagerness to collaborate with Dhanush again, ideally in a full-fledged romantic film.
Music composer Devi Sri Prasad thanked fans for the overwhelming love for the film’s released tracks, "Poyiraa Mama" and "Trance of Kuberaa." Reflecting on his musical journey with Dhanush, from Kutty to Venghai and now Kuberaa, he looked forward to another successful collaboration.
Director Sekhar Kammula heaped praise on Dhanush, calling him a "phenomenal persona" and a rare all-rounder – an actor, director, producer, singer, and lyricist. With deep conviction, he asserted, "Kuberaa is a brilliant film. It is a very brilliant film. It is a very, very, very brilliant film." He also extended heartfelt thanks to his entire team, giving special recognition to costume designer Kavya Sriram for her "award-worthy" work.
Nagarjuna took a nostalgic turn, reminiscing about his deep roots in Chennai—born in Adyar, educated at Guindy Engineering College, married into a Chennai family, and having launched his career in the city. Expressing immense gratitude for the love he has consistently received from Chennai audiences, he also teased fans with a surprising hint: "Right after Kuberaa, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie is waiting to surprise audiences!"
As emotions peaked, Dhanush took the stage, opening with a powerful chant of “Om Namah Shivaay.” Reflecting on the current global climate, he observed, "This is Kalikaalam, a time when hatred, negativity, and jealousy thrive, and evil seems to triumph over good." He then lauded Sekhar Kammula as "a pure soul, like a divine angel," and thanked producers Suniel and Jhanvi Narang for their unwavering faith in 'Kuberaa' and their continued support of meaningful cinema.
Sharing a deeply personal anecdote, Dhanush recalled filming his very first scene for 'Kuberaa' – barefoot under the scorching Tirupati sun, dressed in rags, portraying a beggar. The experience, he said, profoundly reminded him of life’s essential truths, much like his time filming Raanjhaana in Banaras amidst funeral pyres. "Greed, money, worldly pleasures—they’re nothing," he asserted. "What matters is a pure soul. Kuberaa will make you realize that. I am 2000% confident about the impact this film will have."
With its passionate cast and crew, 'Kuberaa' promises not just entertainment, but a deeply moving cinematic journey, set to captivate audiences worldwide on June 20th.
