Renowned director and producer Gunasekhar has expressed his immense delight and encouragement following the recent announcement of the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards by the Telangana government. His historical epic, 'Rudramadevi,' released in 2015, was honored as the Best Film for that year, alongside Kanche and Srimanthudu which secured the second and third best film awards respectively for the same period.
'Rudramadevi,' produced by Gunasekhar under the Gunasekhar Team Works banner with Ragini Guna, Neelima Guna, and Yukta Guna, featured Anushka Shetty in the titular role and Allu Arjun as Gona Ganna Reddy.
In a statement, Gunasekhar conveyed his heartfelt thanks: "It's truly joyful and encouraging that 'Rudramadevi,' produced by Ragini Guna, Neelima Guna, and Yukta Guna under Gunasekhar Team Works for the year 2015, has been declared the Best Film at the Telangana State Government's Gaddar Cinema Awards. On this occasion, I extend my sincere gratitude to Telangana Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy Garu, Jury Chairman Murali Mohan Garu, and all the other jury members."
He specifically acknowledged his lead actors: "Anushka Garu delivered a magnificent performance as Rudramadevi. She was the primary reason behind these achievements. Allu Arjun, who impressed as Gona Ganna Reddy, stood as the backbone of our film, both on-screen and off-screen. My special thanks go to Allu Arjun and Anushka. My gratitude also extends to everyone who worked on the film. Congratulations to all the Gaddar Award recipients."
The Gaddar Telangana Film Awards aim to recognize cinematic excellence, including a retrospective acknowledgment of films released between 2014 and 2023, addressing the absence of state-backed film awards since Telangana's formation.
