Naveen Chandra Teams Up with Director Karuna Kumar for New Film 'Honey', Produced by Sekhar Master and Ravi Peetla; Shooting Begins
Karuna Kumar, the director known for his distinct storytelling in films like ‘Palasa 1978’, ‘Sridevi Soda Center’, and the upcoming ‘Matka’, is set to embark on a new cinematic journey, blending his signature style with fresh experimentation in his latest venture. The film will feature Naveen Chandra in a challenging role, promising to captivate audiences with his natural and compelling performance.
Naveen Chandra, recognized for his choice of content-driven films, is joining forces with director Karuna Kumar, known for his realistic approach to filmmaking. Their collaboration under the Sekhar Studio banner has resulted in a new psychological thriller titled ‘Honey’, which was officially launched today. Alongside Naveen Chandra, the film stars Divya Pillai, Divi, Raja Ravindra, Kalyani Malik, and Baby Jayani in other significant roles. The makers promise a narrative and storytelling approach unseen before in Indian cinema. On the very first day of shooting, the film unit released a poster. The cat and the child featured in the poster subtly enhance the film's mood, while the overall darkness of the poster leaves a strong impression.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveen Chandra shared, "I have portrayed many different characters in my career. However, when director Karuna Kumar narrated the character in this movie, I felt a sense of apprehension. I have never heard of such a character before, but such roles rarely come to any actor. This role is a new challenge for me, and I am happy to be a part of this story under Karuna Kumar's direction. Audiences will see me in a very new light in this film."
Director Karuna Kumar stated, "The story of 'Honey' has many references in society. I am bringing the dark world that human desire leads to, onto the screen in a very bold manner. Naveen Chandra's performance and the depth of the story are the elements that will make this film special. I will craft 'Honey' as a new experience for the audience. The characters of Naveen Chandra and Divya Pillai will have a lot of relatability in society."
Producers Sekhar Master and Ravi Peetla jointly commented, "The story narrated by director Karuna Kumar deeply moved us. The roles of Naveen Chandra and Divya Pillai will be very impactful. Regular shooting has commenced today, and we plan to complete the film in a single 43-day schedule. We have erected a set in Kokapet for the film and will also be shooting in some live locations."
