Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's highly anticipated movie "Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi," featuring Vijayashanthi in a powerful role, is generating significant buzz. The dynamics between these two characters are central to this action-packed family entertainer, directed by Pradeep Chilukuri and produced by Ashok Vardhan Muppa and Sunil Balusu under the Ashoka Creations and NTR Arts banners. The film's promotional content, including the teaser, trailer, and songs, has received a tremendous response. "Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi" is set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on April 18th. On this occasion, director Pradeep Chilukuri shared details about the film at a press meet.
How did the idea for "Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi" come about? How did you approach Kalyan Ram Garu?
- The producers wanted to do a film with Kalyan Ram Garu. By then, Kalyan Ram Garu had done experimental films like "Devil" and "Amigos." We initially decided to do a mass film. I created the hero's character in the mass genre. Later, we envisioned a powerful mother character. We thought it would be good if this mother was a powerful character like Vyjayanthi. We first told the hero. He agreed to do it but clearly stated that we would proceed only if Vijayashanthi Garu agreed. We narrated the story to Vijayashanthi Garu. Madam felt very happy and suggested minor corrections. After making those changes, we took it to the sets.
What is the main conflict in this film?
-
Both the hero's character and the mother's character believe they are right in their own ideologies. The conflict arises from there. These are two very powerful characters.
-
Vijayashanthi Garu has done the fight sequences very wonderfully. When Vijayashanthi Garu heard the story, she immediately said she was ready for the fights.
You directed the film "Raja Cheyyi Vesthe." What caused this long gap afterward?
- Stories were finalized. We even gave advances for a big hero's film, but it got stalled later due to some reasons. Similarly, we sat for three years for a story in UV Creations, which we are going to do next. We also worked on a story for a year and a half under the Anil Sunkara banner. Whenever they start, they will be big films.
You are talking very highly about the film's climax. How is it going to be?
- The audience will see how much a mother can sacrifice for her child. It will be very emotional.
How is the film's business?
- It's very good. The producers are very happy. The film has a very good buzz.
NTR Garu said that Kalyan Anna's collar will be raised. How did that confidence come about?
- NTR Garu watched the film. That confidence came after watching it.
How is Sai Manjrekar's character going to be?
- This is an emotional action film. Her character is like a cool breeze in such a serious film. Her character has its own importance.
How many fights are there? How were they designed?
- Prithvi Master choreographed Vijayashanthi Garu's first action sequence. Ramakrishna Master choreographed the interval and climax fights. Peter Master choreographed the hero's introduction and climax fight. Raghuvaran Master choreographed the two villain sequences. All the fights will be very wonderful.
After Vijayashanthi Garu agreed to the story, you must have felt a responsibility and also some fear, right?
- No fear at all. We narrated it confidently, and we executed it confidently. In fact, I troubled Vijayashanthi Garu. There is a forest sequence in this film. In that scene, she stayed in the mud of the forest for about two hours. She lay in the mud until the shot was completed. After finishing that scene and going into the caravan, Madam had a full fever. Her hand was shaking. Despite having a fever, she didn't move from there until the scene was done. Everyone worked with such dedication. Madam's seniority helped this film a lot. I got goosebumps in many places after watching her performance. She performed at a different level. Kalyan Ram Garu and Vijayashanthi Garu acted competitively.
How was the producers' support?
- The producers were very supportive. They made the film without compromising anywhere. They didn't step back anywhere and supported in every way.
What about Ajaneesh Garu's music?
- The two songs are very good. The re-recording will be at the next level. He created a different sound track for Kalyan Ram Garu, Vijayashanthi Garu, the villain, and every character.
What is Kalyan Ram Garu's strength?
- His strength is emotion. He excels in portraying emotions.
What is the main emotion in this story?
- Parents celebrate our birthday like a festival. Our celebrating our parents' birthday is an emotion. That's what I wanted to convey in this film.
What elements can Kalyan Ram Garu's and NTR Garu's fans expect from this film?
- This is a film with wonderful emotion. Fans can expect good emotion.
What is your strength?
- Emotion is my strength. The films I am going to do next will also be emotional.
