Vishnu Manchu's highly anticipated "Kannappa," initially set for April 25, 2025, has been postponed. Producers cite the need for extensive VFX work to perfect a crucial sequence.
"We need a few more weeks to perfect a key episode requiring extensive VFX work," the makers stated, apologizing for the delay. They emphasized their commitment to delivering "Kannappa," a tribute to Lord Shiva’s devotee, in the "most extraordinary way possible." A new release date is pending.
The film, a mythological fantasy, chronicles Kannappa's transformation from atheist to devotee. Vishnu Manchu stars alongside Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, and a large ensemble cast.
Adding to the buzz are cameo appearances from Mohanlal, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and Akshay Kumar, who makes his Telugu debut. Notably, these stars reportedly worked without payment.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu, "Kannappa" features music by Stephen Devassy, cinematography by Sheldon Chau, and editing by Anthony. The delay highlights the film's ambitious scale and the filmmakers' dedication to visual excellence.
