Actor-turned-politician Vijay's recent Iftar gathering, intended to connect with Tamil Nadu's Muslim community, has ignited controversy, leading to a formal police complaint. The Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath alleges that the event was marred by disrespectful behavior, citing the presence of intoxicated individuals and "hooligans" among attendees.
Syed Ghouse, representing the organization, stated, "Muslims were insulted... Having such people attend the pious event is an insult to Muslims who religiously follow the rules of Ramadan. It is a shame that Vijay hasn’t even tendered an apology."
The complaint also criticizes the event's crowd management, drawing parallels to alleged issues during Vijay's political launch. The organization claims attendees were treated "as cattle" and that non-local bouncers disrespected the public. They emphasize that the complaint is not a publicity stunt.
Meanwhile, Vijay is currently filming "Jananayagan," directed by H. Vinoth, which is expected to be his final film before he fully transitions to politics. The film, produced by KVN Productions, stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju.
