"NTR's Journey is an Essential Lesson for Future Generations" – M. Venkaiah Naidu

In a powerful speech addressing the intersection of regional culture, governance, and history, former Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu strongly advocated for integrating the life and legacy of legendary actor-statesman Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao into academic textbooks.

Speaking at a grand event organized by the cultural association 'Rasamayi' to honor NTR's 104th birth anniversary, Naidu emphasized that younger generations must be educated on how one man redefined Indian socio-politics.

A Lesson in Democracy: "NTR was not just a cinematic force who ruled the silver screen for three decades as a divine icon; he was a political revolutionary. He brought women, youth, and marginalized communities into public governance. Achieving the Chief Minister’s chair within just nine months of launching the Telugu Desam Party is a feat unparalleled in history. His fierce democratic struggle to reclaim power within 30 days during a severe constitutional crisis is a masterclass in political resilience that belongs in our educational curriculum," Venkaiah Naidu asserted.

During the grand ceremony, Venkaiah Naidu formally conferred the prestigious NTR Award upon T.D. Janardhan, the National Vice President of the TDP and Chairman of the NTR Literature Committee, hailing him as a politician of rare, unyielding commitment and absolute integrity.

High-Profile Tributes to a Vanguard of Social Welfare

The commemorative event bore witness to an array of elite political and media personalities sharing personal anecdotes of their time spent alongside the legendary leader.

  • Bandaru Dattatreya fondly recalled how NTR commanded deep, cross-party respect across national political spectrums. He lauded T.D. Janardhan’s exceptional ability to maintain warm, diplomatic relations with rival party leaders while systematically reinforcing the grassroots strength of the TDP.

  • Samudrala Venugopala Chary credited NTR's sharp eye for talent for his own political rise, recalling how the late leader nurtured his initial career, ultimately paving his path to becoming a Union Minister.

  • Kanthamaneni Ravi Shankar, Managing Director of Telugu One, expressed immense pride in honoring his longtime friend T.D. Janardhan with an award bearing the name of an endless source of regional inspiration.

"My Journey Began and Lives with NTR's Ideals" – T.D. Janardhan

Accepting the high honor, an emotional T.D. Janardhan expressed deep gratitude to the dignitaries on stage, describing the award as the absolute pinnacle of his lengthy political journey. He reflected on his foundational years operating under NTR as the Chairman of the Krishna District Cooperative Bank, and his subsequent nine-year tenure heading APCOB with the robust backing of N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Preserving a Century of Legacy: "Being appointed the Chairman of the NTR Literature Committee during the centenary celebrations in 2023 remains the most meaningful milestone of my life. Over the last three years, our committee has aggressively rolled out international and domestic programs to ensure that NTR's core political philosophy, social reforms, and cultural pride are permanently preserved and passed on to the future generation," Janardhan stated.
