Nataka Kiriti Rajendra Prasad, a celebrated actor with over 300 films to his credit, and a beloved figure in Telugu cinema, has been chosen for the prestigious Nata Prapoorna T.L. Kantha Rao Memorial National Award. The announcement came from the Selection Committee Chairperson K.V. Ramana Chary and Convener Nagabala Suresh Kumar in a press release issued on the occasion of the 102nd birth anniversary of the legendary T.L. Kantha Rao on November 16.
The award ceremony is scheduled for November 21, 2025, at the Film Chamber, Hyderabad, with prominent dignitaries including Telangana State Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Telangana State FDC Chairman Dil Raju, as well as notable personalities from the film industry and politics attending as chief guests. Members of Kantha Rao’s family will also be present, honoring the legacy of the late actor.
The organizers shared that this annual celebration of Kantha Rao’s birth anniversary has marked 18 years this year. However, due to unavoidable reasons, the event is taking place on November 21 instead of the birth date itself. This award honors Rajendra Prasad’s versatile career and immense contribution to Telugu cinema, reflecting the spirit and dedication exemplified by Kantha Rao.
