Hyderabad, Telangana – August 15, 2025 – Commemorating the 79th Independence Day, the Phoenix Foundation and Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust jointly launched a grand Mega Blood Donation Drive today. The event was graced by Mega Star Chiranjeevi as the chief guest, with Super Hero Teja Sajja and actress Samyuktha attending as special guests. This impactful initiative saw 800 individuals donating blood, with the collected units slated for donation to the Indian Army.
Chiranjeevi's Heartfelt Message: A Legacy of Life-Saving
Addressing the gathering, Mega Star Chiranjeevi extended his heartfelt greetings: "My sincere thanks to everyone who attended this wonderful event. My dearest friend Suresh Chukkappalli Garu has come even closer to my heart by initiating this blood donation drive for the past two years, alongside his many other social activities. My heartfelt gratitude to my friend Suresh for organizing such a beautiful program. My sincere thanks to Teja, who is like a son to me, for not only attending but also donating blood. This is not the first time; he has donated blood many times before. Chiranjeevi expressed profound respect for the donors: "I bow my head to all the blood donors. Blood donation gives an immeasurable satisfaction. It saves a life. This is a great feeling I have experienced for many years. I have spoken about blood donation many times, but as new generations and new youth emerge, it is essential to reiterate this message." He shared the inspiration behind his initiative: "The idea of starting a blood bank came to me after reading an article written by a journalist. I haven't met him yet, but I always remember him. About 27 years ago, after learning that many people were losing their lives due to a lack of blood, the thought of 'why isn't blood available?' always bothered me. If I could inspire my fans towards blood donation, it would be like leading them towards a powerful social service, and it would bring them great satisfaction too. I would be initiating a good cause."
He spoke with pride about the impact: "The call I made that day has moved millions to donate blood today. This makes me very proud. I consider it a great opportunity given to me by God, a blessing from many lifetimes, that my name is immediately remembered when blood donation is mentioned."
Chiranjeevi also shared a personal anecdote, highlighting his philosophy on criticism: "Recently, a politician made baseless accusations against me. Later, when he visited a certain area, a woman confronted him, asking, 'Why did you feel the need to say so many things about Chiranjeevi?' I found out details about her. She said that her child's life was saved years ago through the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, which is why she respects me. Those words touched my heart. Everyone asks me why I don't respond to criticism. I never respond. Because the good deeds I have done, and the love of my fans, are my protective shields. After that woman spoke, that politician never spoke ill of me anywhere. They also have a conscience, don't they? Even if they insult me in anger at that moment, when they go home, their wife or someone else will tell them not to speak like that again. We don't need to speak. Our good deeds will answer for us. That's why I never respond to anything. I will continue to do good. I will support my brothers who do good, just like me.
