The ongoing recession is all set to shake the entire world and particularly there is a fear that it may spell the end of the phenomenon called Globalization as we know. Particularly techies in North America are worried about the potential fallout this time. At the same time, there is also a talk that not everything is in doldrums and sometimes it is more of hype than substance.

The total sales figure this recent Thanksgiving in America is an indication to this effect. The holiday retail sales in the United States were expected to touch 942.6 billion U.S. dollars this year which only proves that this may not be the worst recession after all. Record surge of shoppers were seen buying online and at stores, registering an impressive holiday season this year in America.

Well, all said and done there is a talk that the recession may not be much feared and it is more of a corporate correction rather than some real hard impact on consumers in general. The shopping trends and the online purchases were off to an impressive start and clearly the common man in America is not backing off this time, whether it’s recession or no real recession!
