DayaaMovieReview: One of the best Telugu crime dramas in recent times

Plot:

Dayaa (JD Chakravarthy) drives a freezer van in the port area. He discovers a dead body in his van's freezer during one of his travels, which causes him anxiety because it is the dead body of well-known journalist Kavita (played by Nambishan Ramya). Esha Rebba portrays his wife, Alivelu, who is pregnant. How Dayaa deals with this is the story.

Performances:

JD Chakravarthy delivers an excellent performance. The audience became even more intrigued by his acting. Despite the complexity of his role, he outperformed everyone with his acting, which he achieved with remarkable ease.

Ramya, on the other hand, is a strong character in her role as a well-known journalist, and she performed admirably and left an impression.

Despite spectacular performances by Vishnu Priya and other performers, Eesha Rebba kept her composure the entire season and saved more of her role for the second.

Pros:

Writing: Each character in the show is well-designed. They have a story of their own to drive the story forward.

Narration

Twists in the plot and the way they were narrated

Climax

Cons:

Slow first few episodes

Editing in the initial episodes

Technicalities:

Both the music (by Shravan Bharadwaj) and the cinematography (by Vivek Kalepu) give the show additional dimension. It is excellent and solid, which increases its interest.

The editing was precise; however, in the first half it lags a bit, while in the second half it raises more curiosity.

Speaking of director Pavan Sadineni, he succeeded in establishing the world of Dayaa with his narration. He delivered, slowly but steadily, without losing balance anywhere, what was needed for the show without beating around the bush. The dialogues, especially, were very well written.

Vox Verdict:

Overall, Dayaa is an excellently crafted crime drama. It is safe to say that this is one of the best-made crime thrillers of recent times. Be it the lead cast’s performance, the narration, or the layering of the characters and the stories within a story, it sums up as an enjoyable crime thriller show.

Rating: 3 / 5
