Plot:

The show centres around six engineering students who live in a hostel and enjoy a variety of adventures during their engineering college days. In the college hostel, Sai (played by Darahas Maturu), Naveen Yadav (played by Akshay Lagusani), and Chitharanjan Bhattacharya (played by Mouli) all share a room. The three of them come from various backgrounds. Three additional students with distinctive characteristics are Anannyaa Akulaa, Kavya (played by Aishwarya Hollakal), and Rithika (played by Jaiyetri Makana). The narrative focuses on the difficulties of hostel living and the humorous incidents that come from the experience.

Performances:

Darahas Maturu performed admirably and authentically as the naive youngster. Mouli Tanuj Prasanth, on the other hand, portrays the nerd. In his role, he was fine. But Akshay Lagusani is the star of the boy's trio. He excels once more in Hostel days after previously wowing audiences with his performance in Dead Pixels. His acting and language delivery give the show extra material and with his performace he proved to be a bankable actor.

All three of the females in the show are really anxious and enthusiastic to learn about the engineering world. They all hail from conservative households. Aishwarya Hollakal dazzles with her enticing features, much as in real life, while Jaiyetri Makana shines made a commendable job of deepening her character via acting. The girl that brings fun and a feeling of freshness to the performance is Anannyaa Akulaa.

Pros:

Akshay’s performance
Comedy
Music
Connectivity factor

Cons:

Slow narration
First two episodes
Forceful comedy in a few scenes

Technicalities:

For the unknown, Hostel Days is the Telugu adaptation of Hindi show Hostel Daze. While the story is the same, it is director Aditya Mandala storytelling that gives freshness to the content.
The writing and dialogues are a plus for the show while the slow narration is a turn off.
The straightforward and clean photography of Fahad Abdul Majeed will transport you back to your college days. The finest avatars of each actor were shown.
Sidhartha Sadasivuni's music is excellent, however the editing was disappointing.

Vox verdict:

Overall, the show has its highs and lows and the youth will enjoy the most as this is not something that will be liked by all age groups.

Rating: 2.25/5
