Tragedy struck in Kongalgutta, Vajedu Mandal of Mulugu district in Telangana, on Monday morning as a landmine explosion claimed the life of one man and left others injured. The victim, identified as Yesu, was one of three men from Jagannadhapuram village who ventured into the forest for firewood collection.
Reports indicate that Yesu inadvertently stepped on a landmine, suspected to have been planted by Maoists targeting police forces. The explosion resulted in Yesu's immediate death, while his companions, Ramesh and Fakir, sustained injuries and were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are intensifying efforts to secure the area to prevent future occurrences.
