The Narendra Modi government today announced a grand necklace of Industrial Smart Cities, which has been modelled like the Golden Quadrilateral project. The Union Cabinet approved a dozen world-class greenfield Industrial Smart Cities under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, spanning multiple states. The government will invest Rs 28,602 crore for this project.
"This is a landmark initiative to build robust & sustainable infrastructure to drive industrial growth and strengthen our efforts towards achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat," the government said.
Kopparthy and Orvakal in Andhra Pradesh, and Zaheerabad in Telangana, will be covered.
