YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday blasted the Chandrababu Naidu government in the wake of severe floods ravaging parts of Andhra Pradesh. He described the floods as a man-made disaster.
"This is not a natural calamity. This has happened because of the mistakes made by this government. Chandrababu Naidu must take moral responsibility for the deaths of 32 people. Each family must be given an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakhs. Besides, the Chief Minister must write a letter to the families, saying that the floods were government-made," Jagan said.
The YSRCP supremo also reminded the public of the Godavari Maha Pushkaram tragedy in 2015 when as many as 29 pilgrims, nearly half of them women, died and 20 others sustained injured in a stampede at a major bathing spot on the banks of the Godavari river. "That tragedy happened only because Chandrababu Naidu wanted to look like a hero. This time, too, the floods have been caused by his government," Jagan said.
