YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the President of the YSR Congress Party, has alleged that the system has collapsed in Andhra Pradesh. He made the remark in reference to the ongoing violent incidents in parts of the State.
The former AP CM said that the political rise of Chandrababu Naidu has endangered democracy itself. "A wild situation has arisen with the arbitrary attacks of the TDP. The whole system is in jeopardy. YSRCP leaders and activists have been attacked with frenzy. The candidates who contested from the party have no protection," Jagan wrote.
He alleged that University professors are being abused and terrorized with the connivance of the ruling coalition led by the TDP. "In the last five years, the State's reputation in the country with respect to governance reforms and programs has been immense. This image is being damaged and AP is being turned into a violent State in just three days. Democracy and civil liberties are being seriously disturbed," Jagan wrote.
He urged the Honorable Governor of AP to intervene. "I assure that the YSRCP will stand by the party workers, my brothers and my sisters who are victims of violent incidents," he added.
