Kesineni Nani, a once firebrand leader of the Telugu Desam Party is now with YSR Congress and he vows to wipe away the TDP outfit in all of Krishna district.
While the Vijayawada parliament is sealed in favor of YSRCP thanks to Nani, the discussion is about the Thiruvuru assembly constituency.
YSRCP candidate Nallagatla Swamy Das has garnered significant sympathy due to his three election losses. He served as TDP MLA in 1994 and 1999, he later contested and was defeated in 2004, 2009, and 2014 elections.
Now contesting as a YSRCP candidate, he benefits from a local boy image, which is aiding his campaign. Swamy Das has strong local ties in the Tiruvuru segment, with support from both TDP and YSRCP cadres. The YSRCP's decision to change the candidate for this election has kept them in the race.
TDP candidate Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao is known for his advocacy for Amaravathi farmers. However, as a non-local candidate, he lacks sufficient social ties locally and is facing issues with local leaders. So, pairing Kesineni election management with Swamy's sympathy is making it an easy win for YCP here.
