To raise awareness about Sankara Nethralaya in Phoenix Arizona, SN USA organized a Meet ‘n Greet event in the presence of famous Tollywood film lyricist Shri. Anantha Sriram at Chandler, Arizona on September 10th, 2023. The lyricist mesmerized the audience with his songs. About 250 people graced the event. Music director Raghu Kunche, who is also a singer, surprised everyone by rendering a couple of Telugu and Hindi hits.
The event started with hymns dedicated to Lord Ganapati. The same was sung by Mrs. Rama Nishtala, Smt. Sindhu Thadiparthi and Mr. Varun. About twenty-five kids from Sri Sankara Bala Vikas recited slokas with Anantha Sriram. The hosts honored them as well as Shri. Amaranth Kundanamadugu with mementos. A bhajan by the Art of Living team, led by Mrs. Monasha Joshi, was fab.
Mrs. Rekha Reddy and Mr. Adishesha Reddy's family pledged their donations to the MESU (Mobile Eye Surgical Unit) Adopt-A-Village program for the year 2024. Their donation will help the Keshapuram village, in Sathya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh. Mrs. Pallavi Kovuru and Mr. Dheeraj Pola's family pledged their donations to the MESU Adopt-A-Village 11-day eye camp for the year 2024 in Rajampet, Annamayya District, AP.
SNUSA was able to raise donations to the tune of about USD 30K, including the above two Adopt-A-Village pledges.
The Sankara Nethralaya Board of Trustee Mr. Vamsi Krishna Eruvaram expressed gratitude towards SNUSA President Bala Reddy Indurti for providing the opportunity and for being a guiding force behind the organization of the Kickoff event in Phoenix, Arizona. During his speech, he elaborated on Sankara Nethralaya's activities and the role of the SNUSA team. Mr. Vamsi expanded the awareness of everyone about the MESU camps and their importance, especially in the rural areas in India.
Several donors came forward during the event and pledged to make donations. Mr. Vamsi also thanked Mr. SV Acharya, Mr. Moorthy Rekapalli, Mr. Shyam Appali, and Mr. Upendra Rachupally for their support.
The prominent leaders of Phoenix, Mr.Srini Gupta, Mr.Roopesh Reddy, Mr. Shyam Byra, Mr. Anjal Reddy, Mr. Raghu Gadi, Mr. Nagesh Puppala, and Mr. Chenna Sanikommu graced the event and expressed their views about Sankara Nethralaya's charity events. They promised to extend all possible support to the organization. The Sankara Nethralaya committee felicitated everyone to honor them.
