Hyderabad witnessed a heartfelt celebration of social commitment on November 28, 2025, when the Suchirindia Foundation hosted its annual Sankalp Divas at Mountain Heights, Shilparamam. This event, coinciding with the birthday of humanitarian Lion Dr. Y. Kiron, honors remarkable contributions to society and brings joy to children from 50 special schools.
The highlight of this year’s event was the presentation of the Sankalp Kiron Puraskar to Padma Shri Jadav Payeng, famously known as the Forest Man of India, recognizing his extraordinary environmental and social work. The award ceremony was graced by former Vice President of India, Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu, who served as the chief guest. Alongside the award ceremony, children from special schools performed vibrant musical and dance acts, showcasing their inspiring talents.
Lion Dr. Y. Kiron shared his vision behind Sankalp Divas, emphasizing his mission to make his birthday meaningful by celebrating social service and supporting disadvantaged children. He stressed the importance of empowering children with disabilities, promoting organic farming, advancing village development, and tackling youth drug abuse through collective responsibility.
Receiving the award, Padma Shri Jadav Payeng expressed humility and admiration for Dr. Kiron’s dedication to uplifting society. He noted that true satisfaction lies in serving others rather than material gains, especially during challenging times like the lockdown.
Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu lauded Dr. Kiron’s lifelong commitment to social work, describing him as an inspiration who has profoundly impacted many lives, particularly those of children.
The event also honored other unsung heroes with the Sankalp Seva Puraskar, including Mr. Balaji Tarini (Telangana Weather Man), social activist Mr. Khwaja Moinuddin, Mr. C. Praveen Kumar Yadhav, and Mr. Polina Chandra Sekhar (Founder of We Are Foundation), reinforcing the foundation’s dedication to recognizing positive societal contributions.
The day resonated with messages of compassion, perseverance, and inclusion, reaffirming Sankalp Divas as a beacon of hope and humanity. The children's performances were a testament that disabilities do not limit talent or spirit but rather inspire resilience.
